Welcome Back!!!

Hey guys welcome back!! We are starting off with some updates and fillers on how things have been going and what the plan for this year is. I am so excited to finally be back here!! This year were going to be making a short film I am not sure on what yet but were going to just catch up at the moment. So at the end of last years post the CCR was tough to get through but it did come out great.
Unfortunately, the people I worked with last year will not be joining this year's trip. So ill make sure to update later on whether or not it will be a new team this year. I have gotten a job and taken time during our break to just figure out what i plan to do after high school is over and there were some tough choices to make but I knew one thing for sure is that I wanted to continue on with this process in A level. So in the beginning I mentioned how i could swim and that I loved the water in the past I am now a certified lifeguard and plan to see if i can use this skills to my advantage in this years filming process. I have been working to learn and improve my skills in media so hopefully everything goes as planned.
Bloom the girls club that I am apart of will not be continuing into this new school year unfortunately, everything has been continued online.  Covid-19 has calmed down just enough for us to go back on campus for school so things are different and a little harder but I believe ill be able to manage it. I have found some new editing apps to use for this year!! So I am hoping that ill be able to put them to great use. Past the editing things are going to be a bit more challenging with the new schedule i have going on.
I know that on Thursday and Friday's i'll be able to plan and prep everything I need so that I can blog on time for you guys and proceed into the project in a timely manner. Hopefully its not to overwhelming if I decide to do these things on my own. I can definitely tell that this year's work is definitely going to be more independent. Having a taste of what AICE Media is like already, I know that this work can be super fun and enjoyable as long as I keep up and stay focused. Part of this process will be done with the new updates that will be coming more frequently from now on. Well that's all that has happened lately so i'll see you all next time. I'll be back soon!!

Planning: Storyboard "Dear Mother"

A dysfunctional mother-daughter relationship is the subject of our short film. The first shot of the first scene is of the outside of a house, which sets the tone for Roxy and Ms. Jackie's home. The shot then moves on to the interior of the house. Roxy is shouted at by her mother about housework in the next scene, which is more focused on the performers' relationships. There is a close-up of food on the floor, which Roxy must clean up as part of her tasks. This scene shows her and her mother going back and forth. Her mother then goes to the bathroom in the next scene. Roxy receives a phone call from a friend, prompting Roxy to see her pal. The short film moves on to the next scene. This takes place in Emma's house, which is a friend of hers. They're in Emma's room, discussing Roxy's mother's treatment of her. The entire time they are chatting, this sequence is shot in two shots. Roxy receives a call from her mother, and her eyes begin to water. Emma's mot...

Short Film Research: ( Migrants/ Drama)

This short film was 8 minutes long and the plot was pretty easy to figure out basically there were polar bears being pushed out of their home lands due to global warming and exiled from brown bear territory being left to fend for themselves on the ocean. In the beginning of the short there was a climax point where the baby polar bear fell of the ice and into the water from the ice breaking and the mother jumps after the baby. This was a great way to start the film it immediately introduce the drama factor that a film should have lots of heart racing and anticipating moments. There was a conflict with the polar bears and the brown bears over food and the was another great way to help deliver a message. Although it is animated the film didn't use and real dialogue just animal noises such as grunts and snorts and well as instrumental music in the background.     It reminds me of how lonely many of us are. It can be interpreted as a political manifesto, ...

Comparing 9, the short, and 9, the full-length movie

The Short: My first impressions of the 9 short film was a bit confusing and when things slowly began to make sense in the end we were left with a weird cliff hanger and although it didn't make much sense seeing the numbers stitched onto other ghost dolls backs before the screen goes out helps establish that there is more to the story and that the is an explanation to what we were seeing. We couldn't really tell what the plot was in the beginning of the short it was hard to put two and two together but after seeing the  ghost dolls it can an appeal of an post-apocalyptic event that happened with 9 being the only survivor of his kind in the all out war. In the character development you could see that 9 was alert and nervous yet curious to find out whats going on and what he can do to survive. The character built a sense of fight or flight mode during the chaos in the short. We saw that there were lots of special effects i'm ...
