Title research: (Taking Chance)

The film we are talking about today is a 2006 film based on a journalist true story. When viewing the opening of this film  the title sequences that were displayed included the Name of the Studio, Name of the Production Company ,Actor(s) names, Film Title , Casting  ,Music,  Editors ,Production designers ,  Directors of Photography, Producers, Storyline, Written/screenplay , and the Director. In this opening it was more of a journal entry kind of thing. The style and images that were focused on were the style and font type of writing that was used to put emphasis in the background. Michael Riley stated, "The credits are set in a basic sans-serif font which makes nice contrasts to the (post-processed) live action footage of writing. Black ink gets absorbed into the thirsty, white paper-a reference to the diaries kept by the main character".

This movie is based off of a true story. So the meaning behind the authenticity enthused handwriting was to portray the image that even for basic compositional principles developed in these 2D designs ;they are created from their own individual shots leaving the visual to be astoundingly precise and soft to the touch from the viewers perspective. This film is based on a true journal writing. This film drawls in its audience and using the soft touch of the handwriting to appeal to the targeted audiences emotions. They succeed in trying to projecting them onto the screen to try to convey it as something the average person in life would go through in this situation.

This film is about "on the personal account of a US Lieutenant who, at his own request, accompanied the remains of a young Marine who got killed in Iraq back home to his family in Wyoming."(watchthetitles). The design of the titles sequence is made to be a delicate writing. That means it is more difficult to understand when analyzing  from a imaginative or sensitive emotional style of writing. Although I only watched the intro understanding that there is a conflict with the main character is key. The main character, I assume was the male actor shown in the opening at the end.

The opening ends with a close up shot of him having a concerned and conflicted look on his face that could leave the audience thinking what could be the problem. It lets the audience know that this actor is most likely being presented with a problem. That is more than about logic it involves more emotion and understanding to the situation that should be provided later in the film with better explain actions and connections. It is safe to say that this is one of the best drama films I was able to find on the websites called watchthetitles.com.

Planning: Storyboard "Dear Mother"

A dysfunctional mother-daughter relationship is the subject of our short film. The first shot of the first scene is of the outside of a house, which sets the tone for Roxy and Ms. Jackie's home. The shot then moves on to the interior of the house. Roxy is shouted at by her mother about housework in the next scene, which is more focused on the performers' relationships. There is a close-up of food on the floor, which Roxy must clean up as part of her tasks. This scene shows her and her mother going back and forth. Her mother then goes to the bathroom in the next scene. Roxy receives a phone call from a friend, prompting Roxy to see her pal. The short film moves on to the next scene. This takes place in Emma's house, which is a friend of hers. They're in Emma's room, discussing Roxy's mother's treatment of her. The entire time they are chatting, this sequence is shot in two shots. Roxy receives a call from her mother, and her eyes begin to water. Emma's mot...

Short Film Research: ( Migrants/ Drama)

This short film was 8 minutes long and the plot was pretty easy to figure out basically there were polar bears being pushed out of their home lands due to global warming and exiled from brown bear territory being left to fend for themselves on the ocean. In the beginning of the short there was a climax point where the baby polar bear fell of the ice and into the water from the ice breaking and the mother jumps after the baby. This was a great way to start the film it immediately introduce the drama factor that a film should have lots of heart racing and anticipating moments. There was a conflict with the polar bears and the brown bears over food and the was another great way to help deliver a message. Although it is animated the film didn't use and real dialogue just animal noises such as grunts and snorts and well as instrumental music in the background.     It reminds me of how lonely many of us are. It can be interpreted as a political manifesto, ...

Comparing 9, the short, and 9, the full-length movie

The Short: My first impressions of the 9 short film was a bit confusing and when things slowly began to make sense in the end we were left with a weird cliff hanger and although it didn't make much sense seeing the numbers stitched onto other ghost dolls backs before the screen goes out helps establish that there is more to the story and that the is an explanation to what we were seeing. We couldn't really tell what the plot was in the beginning of the short it was hard to put two and two together but after seeing the  ghost dolls it can an appeal of an post-apocalyptic event that happened with 9 being the only survivor of his kind in the all out war. In the character development you could see that 9 was alert and nervous yet curious to find out whats going on and what he can do to survive. The character built a sense of fight or flight mode during the chaos in the short. We saw that there were lots of special effects i'm ...
