Hip hop music generally focuses on the teen bracket, and most people starting from ages of adolescence to their teen years experience suicidal thoughts and acts of self harm. The use of Mis En Scene plays an important role in these types of music videos, because it portrays the theme of the video, coinciding with its lyrics.
The lyrics display a strong message to the audience and urges a call to action. Personal lyrics are also a great thing to have for the attempts of making a change. It also represents the overall setting and context of the music video. Props and camera shots help add to the narrative of the music video and adds more of a meaning towards the overall message.
